Austrian Serbian Tourism Bachelor Programme is undergraduate Double Degree Programme for Tourism and Leisure Management, organized in cooperation of Singidunum University, Belgrade, Serbia, and IMC University of Applied Sciences, Krems, Austria.

The Programme is developed to ensure that the students’ learning experience and learning environment, as well as the educational value, at the Singidunum University are equivalent to the ones offered in Krems, Austria. Upon successful completion of studies, both IMC University of Applied Sciences and Singidunum University award their degree to students.

Austrian Serbian Tourism Bachelor Programme lasts for 3 years, or 6 semesters. The academic year is structured in two semesters, one winter and one summer semester, each for a duration of 14 weeks. A single teaching unit of an IMC Programme lasts for 50 minutes. The fourth semester is planned for the internship in selected domestic or foreign company that University Singidunum or IMC University of Applied Sciences is having a cooperation with. The duration of internship is 22 weeks up to 6 months. Compulsory internships, projects and partnerships with industry and business help our students to gain valuable personal experience and to make contact with potential employers while still at university, adding a proactive dimension to their career development.

Also, there is a possibility of participation in student exchange programme during the third or the fifth semester. If students choose this option they are obliged to cover the travel costs and costs of living.
Students are expected to attend the lectures on a regular basis. Graduates obtain 180 ECTS Credit, and double degree of Singidunum University and IMC University of Applied Sciences.

A graduate of the Programme can be expected to have advanced expertise in business administration as well as in the tourism and leisure economy and be able to competently solve problems and innovatively use his/her critical understanding of theories and methods, carry out specific tasks and projects on his/her own, be expected to assume decision making responsibilities in his/her respective work place and have the soft skills necessary to assume responsibility for groups and empower individuals.

Graduates are able to:

  • understand and independently apply fundamental concepts, models and systems in the national and international tourism and leisure economy,
  • understand the economic geography relevant to tourism,
  • analyse and interpret special problems imposed by sport, event, art, culture, health, wildlife, and convention tourism and derive suggested solutions or measures,
  • understand the special significance of sociological and psychological findings in the tourism and leisure economy and draw practical conclusions from those findings.

Graduates as proficient users of English are able to understand oral and written tasks dealing with complex subject matter, to discuss, argue and summarize. They can express themselves precisely and fluently in both situations relating to their area of studies as well as in their daily routines and use differentiated formulations and understand the language in complex situations.
