Milan Tuba

Milan Tuba je rođen 27.08.1952. u Lučanima, SFR Jugoslavija.

Milan Tuba, Head of the Artificial Intelligence project, redovni profesor računarskih nauka i matematike, uvršten je na Stanfordsku listu 2% najuticajnijih naučnika sveta u svim disciplinama i to na obe verzije te liste, za celokupni doprinos tokom karijere i doprinos u prethodnoj godini (za godine 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023 i 2024). Bio je prorektor za međunarodnu saradnju Univerziteta Singidunum, šef Departmana za matematičke nauke Državnog univerziteta u Novom Pazaru i dekan Fakulteta računarskih nauka Univerziteta Džon Nezbit. Prof. Tuba je autor ili koautor oko 300 naučnih radova (citiran preko 7800 puta, h-indeks 53) i urednik, kourednik ili član uređivačkog odbora ili naučnog odbora niza naučnih časopisa, Springer monografija i konferencija. Održao je po pozivu preko 100 keynote, plenarnih i inauguralnih predavanja na međunarodnim kongresima i konferencijama.

Diplomirao je matematiku, stekao je zvanja magistar matematike i magistar računarstva, doktor računarskih nauka na Matematičkom fakultetu Univerziteta u Beogradu i New York University. Od 1983. do 1994. bio je u SAD na Vanderbilt University, Nashville i Courant Institute of Mathematical Sciences, New York University, a kasnije kao docent elektrotehnike na Cooper Union School of Engineering, New York. Za to vreme bio je osnivač i direktor Laboratorije za mikroprocesore i VLSI laboratorije, rukovodilac naučnih projekata NSF-a i mentor studentima osnovnih i posdiplomskih studija. Bio je mentor desetine doktorskih i master disertacija na Matematičkom fakultetu Univerziteta u Beogradu, Univerzitetu Singidunum, Uverzitetu u Sarajevu, Državnom Univerzitetu u Novom Pazaru, Džon Nezbit Univerzitetu, Univerzitetu u Istočnom Sarajevu. Predavao je više od 20 kurseva na osnovnim i posdiplomskim studijama, od VLSI dizajna i računarske arhitekture do računarskih mreža, operativnih sistema, veštačke inteligencije, obrade digitalnih slika, analize i teorije redova na brojnim univerzitetima u regionu i Americi. Prof. Tuba je recenzent Komisije za akreditaciju univerziteta Republike Srbije.

Njegov istraživački interes obuhvata optimizacije algoritmima inspirisanih prirodom primenjene na obradu slika, računarske mreže i neuronske mreže. Član je naučnih društva ACM - Senior Member, IEEE - Senior Member, AMS, SIAM, IFNA, IASEI, SCRS.
