Master programme Business Systems in Tourism and Hospitality provides preparation for a successful career in hotels, travel agencies, tourism organizations, food and beverage sectors, internal control management etc.

The World Tourism Organization-UNWTO has awarded TedQual certification to Singidunum University for the realization of the study programme entitled Business Systems in Tourism and Hospitality.

I semestar

The aim of this course is to make students conversant with the main methodological postulates, the specifics of epistemology of social sciences, as well as with the main logical research methods. The students should also learn about the methods and techniques used for collection, analysis and explication of scientific material, and scientific research structure, i.e., phases in scientific research process.

The aim of subject is to introduce students to the complex issues regarding manners in which international and local markets operate. The emphasis is placed on the appropriate market changes and positions of specific regions, countries and territories, as well as on management issues in market development

The aim of the course is to make the students conversant with the types and features of business systems in tourism and their functioning by using specific examples from the international and local practice.

The students should master knowledge and skills related to planning, organizing, and controlling of marketing activities in tourism with special reference to using marketing instruments in business and tourism policy.

The aim of the course is to provide students with necessary knowledge in the field of hotel management, housekeeping management, hotel restaurant management, reception desk service functioning and management, hotel marketing management, supply management, hotel support service functioning and management, financial management in a hotel, human resource management and security management.

The students should master knowledge and skills in the domain of specific business process management of travel agencies and tour operators, and particularly in the domain of managing process of creation and placement of travel packages in a dynamic environment of the travel market which is increasingly adopting characteristics of electronic market.

II semestar

Acquisition of knowledge regarding ways of balancing various effects of tourism activities (economic, social, cultural and ecological) on sustainable tourism destinations development; importance and role of coordinated activities, different support systems, indicators and instruments of planning effects control, monitoring and sustainable destinations development management.

The aim of the course is to enable students to acquire advanced knowledge in the geographic information field and contemporary technological environment in business processes in the area of tourism and hospitality management. Course objective is also to teach them methods for managing database regarding geographic information as a strategic resource for modeling and visualizing tourist and hospitality activities.

Course objective is acquiring knowledge about implementation procedures which promote tourists’ health; tourism offer. Thorough knowledge about different interpretations of health tourism, wellness concepts, ways of preventing illnesses, psycho-physical condition improvement, regaining vitality by introduction of nutritionist programmes, recreation programmes as well as by the use of natural resources such as thermo mineral springs, pure atmospheric air and curative peloids blends.

Implementing basic, theoretical-methodological, scientific-professional and professional-applicative knowledge and methods in resolving concrete issues in the chosen area. Within the section concerning the research implementation, the students particularly examine the problem, its structure and complexity and based on the analysis done, they make conclusions on the possible ways to resolve it. By examining the literature, the students get to know the methods that are intended for resolving similar tasks and the ways used in their resolution. The aim of students ‘activities within this segment of research is reflected in acquiring necessary experiences by resolving complex problems and tasks and recognizing the opportunity to implement previously gained knowledge in practice.

Master’s thesis

  • The candidate takes six exams. The first project assignment integrates four courses from the first semester, whereas the second one combines two courses from the second semester.
  • During the course of studies, the candidates formulate their master’s thesis. Project assignments completed in the first and second semester can be integrated into the final master’s thesis.
