The rapid development of technology at the global level has caused the growing industry's need for interdisciplinary staff. The Engineering Management Program offers a specialization that enables the application of key engineering principles in a business environment, that is, the linking of technical knowledge with basic business and managerial skills. This program is offered in Serbian and English language and enables the acquisition of advanced knowledge in the field of innovation management, quality management, project management, supply chain management and business decision making. Although management engineers often develop their careers to work in manufacturing, construction, ICT sector or logistics, there is almost no organization in the private and public sector where there is no need for "technically qualified" managers.

I semestar

Students are introduced to the key activities in the research process in the fields of technical sciences: collecting, using and properly citing literary sources, defining research hypotheses, collecting, processing and analyzing data and drawing adequate conclusions. Also, students acquire the skills of effective written communication, argumentation of professional and scientific attitudes and the use of modern software solutions for the needs of research work.

The aim of the course is to enable students to acquire basic knowledge on current trends in engineering, as well as to develop key competencies and skills in terms of understanding the systemic approach in design, implementation and exploitation of complex systems, products or objects. Students should be able to design products as a system, apply complex system tools and techniques in technical processes and managing processes that coordinate project realization.

Students should acquire the basic knowledge on business systems and database and OLTP solution design.

Students should acquire theoretical and practical knowledge in the domain of design and implementation of standardized management systems. They should master the methodology of integrating various management systems into the main management system of an organization. They should also be able to use integrated management systems for achieving key performances of an organization and sustainable success.

The aim of the course is to enable students to gain theoretical and practical knowledge and skills in the area of engineering design. II semestar

The aim of the course is to make students conversant with the concept, methodology and tools of TQM. Special emphasis is placed on making students conversant with the fundamental concept and principles of excellence model and standardized management systems.

Students should acquire the basic knowledge on innovations. Special attention is devoted to enabling students to develop innovative strategies, recognize models and risks in innovation process. This should enable students to develop skills and knowledge in innovation management to achieve and maintain competitive advantage.

The course aims to enable students to apply basic, theoretical-methodological, scientific-technical, and technical-applicative knowledge on solving specific problems within the selected engineering management field. While preparing the research paper, the student is concerned with the problem individually, its examination, structure and complexity, thus reaching conclusions about possible ways of problem solving and making the right decisions of strategically- tactical and operational character. By examining the literature, students become familiar with the methods intended for the practical solutions of similar tasks and problems.
The student applies basic, theoretical methodological, scientific-professional and professional-applied knowledge and methods for solving concrete problems within the selected field of engineering management. During the progress of research work, the student studies the problem, its structure and complexity. The student proceeds to make conclusions on the possible ways of solving it and the creation of adequate decisions of the strategic, tactical and operational character. By studying professional literature, the student is acquainted with methods for solving similar tasks.

The goal of writing and defending the master’s thesis is for the student to, by researching and debating the research-based topic, demonstrate an independent and creative approach in the application of theoretical knowledge and practical skills in problem solving and implementation of decisions in the life of organisations in the field of engineering management in production and other organisations.

  • The candidate takes six exams. The first project assignment integrates four courses from the first semester, whereas the second one combines two courses from the second semester.
  • During the course of studies, the candidates formulate their master’s thesis. Project assignments completed in the first and second semester can be integrated into the final master’s thesis.
