The Business Economics study program enables students to acquire advanced theoretical and practical knowledge necessary for taking an active role in the transition processes in Serbia and abroad. This program is available in Serbian and English. Students enjoy the privilege of learning from the most distinguished professors and experts in the field of applied economics which engage students in creative problem solving, making and implementing decisions in the areas of strategic and operational management, accounting and auditing, finance and banking, insurance, human resources management, and marketing and trade. Students who opt for this program will be trained for faster and easier acquiring of professional positions in finance (CIMA, CFA, CPM, investment advisor, investment manager, independent appraiser, broker, and licensed real estate agent), risk management (PRM) and accounting (ACCA). Also, the implementation of the EU directives in the field of finance, accounting and management will involve the recruitment of candidates with the title of master economist for performing professional tasks.

I semestar

Students are familiarized with basic methodological postulates, specific epistemology of humanities, principal logical research methods, methods and techniques for collecting, analyzing and exploring scientific material as well as the structure of scientific research or phases in the scientific research process.

The purpose is to acquire knowledge and skills to choose target markets and attract customers, and retain and increase their number by creating, delivering and communicating superior value for customers.

The focus is on the acquisition of theoretical-analytical and applied knowledge in the area of financial reporting and business decision making, mastering of techniques of accounting for financial reporting and business decision making, and familiarizing students with contemporary achievements in financial reporting and business decision making.

The aim is to provide students with theoretical and practical knowledge of corporate culture, the ways of its creation, and the basic forms of manifestation within modern business organizations.

Students shall familiarize themselves with the science and practice of organizational behavior that contribute to the success of business.

The course enables students to lead their organizations in order to be effective and efficient.

The aim of the course is to help students acquire knowledge and skills on strategic direction, creation and effective realization of market activities of enterprises, in order to better internationalize and integrate into the foreign environment, from local to global level.

The objective is that students acquire theoretical-analytical and applied knowledge in the field of corporate finance and master the issues related to the modern finances of the corporate enterprise, by developing analytical and practical modes of thinking and acquiring necessary skills for practical work in the affairs of financial managers and financial advisors.

The realization of the plan and programs in this course enables competent experts to perform the most complex jobs in insurance and reinsurance companies, as well as in state institutions which exercise insurance supervision and control. The course focuses on students’ mastery of specific knowledge in the field of governance model and risk allocation in insurance transactions.

Central aspects of the course are: acquisition of theoretical-analytical and applied knowledge in the field of audit and related audit services; mastering audit techniques and related audit techniques; familiarizing with modern achievements in auditing and related audit services. The goal of practical teaching is to provide students with the necessary skills in auditing and related audit services by considering case studies and other practical examples.

The objective is to enable students to master basic knowledge of market communication mechanisms with a particular emphasis on the study of commercial propaganda and advertising, as basic forms of communication with the consumer and society as a whole.

II semestar

The student will acquire theoretical and practical knowledge in the field of stock exchange operations, applied to the financial market.

The student will have gained theoretical-analytical and applied knowledge in the field of special balance sheets and mastered the techniques of making special balance sheets.

The objective of the course is to acquaint students with the concept and evolution of human resources management, its processes and the methods with which organizations, on the one hand, attract, retain and motivate their employees to achieve their full potential, and on the other hand, to contribute to achieving the goals of the organization.

The goals of the course are: to acquire the knowledge and skills in the field of business intelligence; to consider the business intelligence system in the context of strategic management using the BSC (Balanced Scorecard) methodology; to enable students to understand decision-making process and evaluate how decision support systems can help solve semi-structured and unstructured problems; to manage business intelligence from customer relationship management (e-CRM), enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and Supply Chain Management (SCM); to facilitate the understanding of Business Intelligence Elements: Data Warehouse, OLAP Solutions, and Data Mining; to manage and discover knowledge by using Data Mining techniques and algorithms.

The goal is to train students to create and manage changes in the conditions of global competition.

The realization of the plan and programs in this course enables the training of competent experts to perform the most complex jobs in insurance and reinsurance companies, as well as in state institutions which exercise insurance supervision and perform supervision activities. At the end of the course, the student will have gained specific knowledge in the field of insurance management.

The primary objective of the course is to assist students with understanding the process of profit planning and control process, as well as goals, technical procedures and budgeting effects.

Students will acquire knowledge about all important institutes, categories and regulations of the tax system of the Republic of Serbia, familiarize themselves with the course of the tax process in all its phases, master tax terminology, and be trained in how to interpret the provisions of tax regulations and filling out forms of tax returns. Student will also develop the ability to critically analyze the positive tax legislation of Serbia and acquire wider knowledge as a preparation for tax consulting.

The course introduces students to the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) concept, with its elements, the implementation process and the strategic framework for its implementation, with relationship Marketing (RM) as the main element of CRM, as well as marketing communications activities, as a key to building long-term relationships in the exchange.

The objective of this course is to acquire knowledge and skills on the development of a new product that is the result of the development of a business strategy, and to explore the implications of its development in the long run, its effect on the market and to predict business success of the company.

The student applies basic, theoretical methodological, scientific-professional and expert-applied knowledge and methods for solving specific problems within the selected area of business economy: finance and banking, accounting and auditing, insurance and human resources management. During the process of preparation of research paper, the student studies the problem, its structure and complexity and, on the basis of the conducted analyzes, makes conclusions on the possible ways of solving it and creates adequate decisions of the strategic, tactical and operational character. By studying professional literature, the student becomes acquainted with methods that are intended for solving similar tasks and takes practice in their solving.

The goal of preparing and defending the final master's work is to provide a student research-oriented topics and to demonstrate an autonomous and creative approach in applying theoretical knowledge and practical skills in future practice.

  • The candidate takes six exams. The first project assignment integrates four subjects from the first semester, while the second integrates two subjects from the second semester.
  • During the course of lecture, the candidate chooses the topic for his or her master’s thesis. Project objectives from the first and second semesters can be integrated into the master’s thesis.
